​The Children’s Safety Partnership, a collaboration of the Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault and the Maine Department of Education, will be offering FREE training opportunities to support schools in implementing the child sexual abuse prevention and response policy. Trainings will focus on understanding the policy, personnel awareness and education, and curriculum lessons for students on child sexual abuse prevention, including training of trainers and teachers.  For more information, contact MECASA or your local sexual assault support center.

Maine’s Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Education Policy Overview
Participants will gain an understanding of the Child Sexual Abuse Prevention and Response Model Policy and new supporting resources. This webinar was created for school administrations and school personnel overseeing the implementation of the policy.

Training of Trainers on Child Sexual Abuse Personnel Awareness and Education
Participants​ will be trained to deliver the one-hour personnel training required for all staff. This four-hour training is intended for school nurses, counselors, or educators who will serve as trainers to their peers/colleagues.

Training of Teachers on Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Curriculum Lessons  (Pre-K through grade 12) 
​Participants will receive training that will begin to prepare them to deliver age-appropriate child sexual abuse and sexual violence prevention lessons. A new version of this training is in development that will meet as well as surpass the law's requirements. It is intended for pre-K through grade 12 classroom teachers, health education teachers, school nurses, counselors, or others who will be delivering child sexual abuse and sexual violence prevention lessons.
